Insecurity issues...?

If you were with someone for 8 years, went to war and found out they were not faithful. Tried to make up over the next few years only to break it off because of it, how would you train yourself not to be insecure with your new partner whom is awsome?

Kill your insecurity and be confident of yourself. Become independent and love yourself. In your case self pity is coming in form of insecurity. So get out of self pity to feel more confident and independent. Please remember you can't change others. You can change yourself. Learn to relax and take life easy.

Yes you must let go of your insecurities over your last relationship. Trust is the main ingredient to a healthy relationship. You say this person is awesome so give it an honest chance. You may be in for the surprise of your life, perhaps the first time you have ever experienced true love. Hope you give yourself a chance. :)

Not all people are alike. Your new partner is a completely different person. Keep telling yourself that when those insecure thought creep in.

I would keep telling myself, this person is a completely separate person from my ex. I would keep saying to myself, if I had never gone out with that ex, I would be completely comfortable in this relationship and not have any of the misguided doubts I do now.

in my situation...i was abused by my first husband. it took YEARS to trust men again. i finally opened my heart & realized not ALL men were like my snake of a first husband, and then i met my current husband & realized...it was great to be with someone like him.

    i wish you the best.
