Celtics vs. Lakers 2011?
If this was to happen, can you imagine the hype?
Shaq vs Kobe again (keeping Phil/Kobe from another 3-peat and the 6th ring for Kobe while Shaq going for his 5th)
Celtics definitely want their revenge from last year, and the stakes being higher to prevent Lakers from beating them 2 years in a row (and this is probably the last push the vets can make)
Lakers, a must win because this is Phil Jackson's (and probably Derek Fisher's) last season/title run, and Kobe's presence will be a ? after this season.
For the franchises, Lakers can either tie the Celtics if they win or Celtics maintain their lead in championships.
This has all the makings of another great series agreed?

Yes it does.
Its very hard to predict. But im going to say Celtics in 7 for a couple of reasons.
1. Shaquille and Jermaine- With both of these players, if Perkins gets injured like he did in game 7, they have two former all stars to back him up.
2. Kevin Garnett- He will be a year more healed, and quite possibly have some of his old knees left in him. If garnett gets around 17ppg next seaosn and 7 rebounds, the Celtics will be even better.
3. Rajon Rondo- Rondo is young and seeme to improve his game every year. Plus, Rondo will have the metality of winning because of the loss to the Lakers.
4. Revenge for the Celtics- Like the Lakers, they want to get back at the person who they lost to. The Lakers lost in '08, so they wanted to get back. Now that the Celtics lost, revenge is on their minds, at least some.
5. Vets running out of time- Like you said, its one of the Last years for most of these Celtic players. Pluuuuuus, Pierce said he doesn't know how legendary it would make him if he doesn't win at least 2 rings in his career.
6. Shaq- He wants a 5th ring to stay with Kobe, and also just wants one more at leats before his leaving.
So it will be hard and interesting. Celtics in 7 if they play is what I think could happen.
Great series, but Celtics have the Mentality and picked up more players/made better offseason moves IMO.
Hope this helps you Cheese Bob.

That's a great match-up. The only way it could happen is for the Lakers to make the finals and the Celtics to pass Miami. The only way u can pass Miami is if the three egos of Wade, Bosh, and L.J. don't co-exist. If they don't, the Celtics chemistry will take over and make it to the finals. Now I want Celtics to win in 7. This year they could have if they had Perkins healthy for JUST 1 game. 1 game and the celtics could have been champs. Rasheed did his best but it wasn't enough for the Lakers. Plus Shaq vs Kobe feud is over. And if the Lakers lose, I wanna see if Phil Jackson will resign or come back again. And I bet if Phil don't come back, Fish and Kobe are retiring/leaving. If the Lakers win, they can tie the number of championships won with the Celtics at 17, and a three-peat.Kobe's second and his 6th ring to tie with Michael Jordan. But I doubt this can happen. The Lakers are barely gonna make the finals with the west improving with teams like suns, thunder, houston, portland, denver, dallas and the power in the east with teams like the bulls, heat, magic, new york coming. So this year's season will be interesting to watch.

Lol @ Cleveland rocks. College Basketball and NFL have stability? There's a new champion every year. That's not stability. You can make the case that the NBA, especially teams like the Lakers and Celtics, are stable. These franchise have been consistently good since they've been in the league.

Wow Kobe has it going right now
if he beats LeBron, Wade & Bosh, that would be AMAZING for his legacy, it would beat anything Jordan ever did
but . . .
if he beats Shaq and the Lakers' all time rival, the Boston Celtics, for his 6th ring and tieing Boston for the all time championships, that would be amazing for his legacy too
man, what a great year this will be
