Is it really possible to be addicted to loud music?
going to concerts is on of my favorite things to do. i have been to over 75 (i stopped counting). most of the concerts ive been to are metal/hardcore and obviously these kinds of shows are very loud.
where my problem is, is that feel of seeing a live band i associate with turning my cd player up in the truck really loud. there is nothing like the feeling of listening to Lamb of God or Mastadon on the way to work in the morning. i just dont feel right if i have it down low?
so am i addicted to loud music? i understand that this can and will affect my hearing as i dont want that to happen. i have had success with keeping the music down but still i find myself creeping that dial back up.
or is it possible im trying to relive most of my concert going experiences? (nearly every cd i own especially metal, ive seen that band live)

i think it may be possible. i dont know that i would have thought to use the word addicted, but im a metalhead too, and the louder the better. there are even a few bands that i cant listen to below a certain volume or they just dont sound right. they practically BEG to be loud.
im still not sure that addicted is the right word though, but i assure you i know what you mean. having music that loud just seems to make it better, because it makes it feel closer to a concert.
