what is wrong with me and my horse?

okay i have a horse who can walk and trot in a stright run, but when i try running him he wants to run not in a stright line. why is that, and how can i fix it. if i am trail riding he trot walk and stop for me but when i try to run he draft and even in open fields. and also when he tries to run he lower his head to try to run full speed why is that

Update:

he is green still in training, he is three and half, i dont do much him, i ride him once a week....he caught on to trot quickly in less than 25 min, by kicking him twice, i know he is young, and i have patience, i was just woindering what to do

Update 2:

i am not sending him to a trainer, i want to train him myself and learn. i already trained my four yr old who only had less than 20 rides when i got him, so i wanna do this one by myself. and no i am not a trainer, but both horses respect me and my three and half respects me he lets me mount him stands still listens, and just a pleaser, never bucked or rear so i am saying i am doing good, with the bonding and respect. so no trainer

Update 3:

how do you train him to run stright instead of an angle

How old is your horse first of all and how long has he been broke? Does he move to your leg pressure? That means, can you move his butt around by squeezing on your left leg (for example). If he doesn't, I'd go back to the basic ground work and teach him how to disengage his hindquarter by putting on some pressure with your hand at the point where your leg is gonna be sitting when you ride. You push your hand in, he moves you immediatly let go and wait a couple seconds.. if he doesn't move at all, put more pressure on, yeah poking harder with a finger is ok too if you have to... if you have to be harsher, he'll be responding faster the next time you put some pressure on. It'll get easier. And always give him a few seconds to realize that he won't get poked when he moves his butt. Try this over and over again until it sits. Then you try it out of the saddle until it sits. Then you can start and trot and canter, now you keep your legs on him and keep him straight but either moving his butt to the left is the turns it to the right or the other way around... good luck

    Addition...

Since he's still so green, it will take time for him to canter perfectly straight. When they are so young they haven't found their balance yet... so it's practice, practice, practice... start on working on collection... head bending at the poll and urging him to step under further with his hindquarters... that will give him a rounder back. I feels like you are riding a dressage horse kind of... his steps will be more featherned, more uppity, rounder... its hard to explain that through words.. you'll just have to feel it.

What you do is you use light pressure on the reins, just lightly play with the bit, left right, left right... you want him to lower his head and turn it towards his chest (which will take time and work)... now every time he just loweres his head a lil, give him reins... he gives, you give! Timing is important... you do this first at a stop... then at a walk (and here you start using your legs now too... this is to move him forward... to go on the bit... to step under further.... later you won't have to use the reins as much anymore, just your leg pressure will teach him to lower his head and to collect), then the transition between a walk and a trot.. and then at the end the canter... by that time he will be more rounder and more balanced... Go ahead and try that... look it also up online bout how to collect a horse...

I added one of my videos on so you can kind of see how it is in the beginning of collection... and the horse I ride also had a lil bucking problem as you can see on the video before that, but it's all good.. the one I just posted here is the one after the first one...

My final 2 horses--which covers the time from age 12 to now (virtually 25) had been purchased as greenies who knew not anything, in order that wasn't relatively an limitation...I did not ought to holiday any behavior or adapt to an additional variety. My mother simply purchased a brand new horse a couple of months in the past after a lot debate. She were driving/displaying her older, in charge gelding who was once as forged as they arrive however no longer above all beautiful or fancy, and it was once restricting her potential within the exhibit pen. She was once able to transport up. We determined this horse who had lots of AQHA aspects, was once secure and secure but was once slightly bit fancier than the earlier horse. She attempted him out and despite the fact that he had plenty of "buttons" she did not recognize (ie, he had a spur give up, and her ancient horse did not), she relatively preferred him. We introduced him dwelling...and the issues began. The largest is that he is been lame for weeks, opening a few weeks after she introduced him dwelling (and we had him absolutely vet checked, in order that wasn't whatever we would have avoided). It's been extraordinary disorders. We knew he were injected earlier than so we were not above all amazed approximately that and wanting to do it once more, however it is been a battle to hold him sound. We additionally found out he had ulcers. She's additionally struggled a lot more than she anticipated with driving him--I suppose she was once anticipating a far less complicated, "pushbutton" horse and he is relatively taken competencies of her. Not hazardous in any respect...however no longer profitable ribbons within the exhibit pen, both. I do not suppose he is the "improper" horse for her, however I suppose it is a lot more of a project and no longer as handy/instantly pleasant as she was once anticipating. In her case, she's requested our teacher to paintings with the pony a few to determine him out slightly so he can support her larger (and in addition to right any unhealthy behavior she's allowed the pony to increase) after which he is helping her be taught to trip him larger to make him do it the way in which he is aware of how. She's additionally operating carefully with the vet and farrier to clear up the stability disorders, and we are hopeful that once he is one hundred% sound a few of his coaching disorders will clear up.
