Christians can you help me with this?

I was reading the bible from the start and just got to the page where Cain was marked and sent on his way by the Lord, it said he got his wife but where did she come from? it seems it's only Adam and Eve at the time?

I'm confused and i'm sure there's an explanation.

P.s Atheists please don't come along and take this as an opportunity to be rude, it will only make me pray for you.

Thanks :)

Update:

Ah right....of course, who knows how i missed that one :/ bit disturbing really ha ha

Adam and Eve had lots of children, not just Cain, Abel, and Seth. Their wives came from among the other children. Yes, their sisters.

Also, the human lifespan was considerably longer, and the fertility of women lasted almost until death. So, in 800 years of fertility, you can have quite a few kids. One (or two) every 9 months or so... is 1,066 children. I am sure Cain found one in there he was compatible with.

At several points along the history of the Bible, God made decrees that something or another would change. Our lifespan, for example was limited to 125 years after Noah and the Ark. God was not going to let folks go for 900 years sinning the way we do. Our language and looks were changed to make us vastly different, in order to stop the Tower of Babel and any future such activities.

It makes sense that at these points in history, God instituted changes in our DNA to enforce the decrees. This would explain why today marriage among close relatives is discouraged, and eventually leads to the possibilities of birth defects.

Many stories in the Old Testament are not true. They are allegory to represent some kind of point. God did not just create two people and have them populate the entire planet. Do you know that everybody would have died out from genetic failure? Adam and Eve represent the whole human race and their expulsion from the garden of Eden represents our voluntary seperation from God

If you read further you will find after Cain and Abel that Adam had a son named Seth and then he had sons and daughters.

    Genesis 5

    1This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

2Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

3And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, and after his image; and called his name Seth:

4And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:

They would have had to marry within the family. At that time the DNA would not have the weakness we have today. Even today incest does not create a problem unless it takes place in several generations.

    *SIGH*

Cain's wife would have had to be one of His sisters.

The dangers of incest would not be evident for centuries, which is why people lived so long, before God declared that man should only live to be 120.

While Adam & Eve WOULD die, because their bodies were as perfect as possible, that trait carried through for centuries.

On the six day God created male and female, maybe there were more people besides Adam and Eve, because when God created the sun it came into existance, so maybe when He created men and women they appeared too?? idk just a thought.

It was ok in the beginning to marry your relative, then after so much sin and generations it stopped.
