Cobs don't exactly get enough credit...?

I didn't think cobs were that great till I met this little missy...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1hvyO7qXlM

It says she was going to be sold to lovely people. Let me make this clear... I never owned her, and the people who were going to buy her changed their minds and she's gone back to the people who neglected her. I think it's important she gets credit. I love her to peices and miss that little freak!

Scarlett. The second horse in the video. She's an angel when by herself, I rode her in her first group lesson and she was AWFUL, verticle rearing. It's not exactly scary on a 14hh horse though, plus she has the worlds slowest gaits...

I know my riding is UTTERLY awful in this video, it's quite old, and the first horse had a terrible jump. I had also a muscle erruption in my left ribcage which affected my left leg. It was some medical term like that. Anyway, it's not about me, it's about these little piebald freaks♥

Update:

Hahaa - Not to be mean, but Ruby was my favee;)♥

My riding in this IS terrible, the first horse had been incredibly naughty but we hadn't got it all on camera. I can ride better, however, this is the first time I had riden yet alone jumped these horses. But thankyou for your compliments! Scarlet, the second horse in the jumping video, had never been jumped before at this stables, they therefore decided I was a good testdumby... Anyway, I think she did fabulously♥

Cobs can do so many things. They are deffinately not my favourite breed, that will forever be an appaloosa, as my best bud was one. I can only wish I had videos of me on him, he could jump so much higher and smoother than these guys, but these mares are all pretty awsome:')♥

I agree that cobs don't get enough credit. They are such sturdy little "powerhouses" and usually willing to put up with a fair amount of abuse by novice riders. They can carry the entire family, and usually are very low maintenance. I think many horse people are obsessed with showing, and even if they don't show they want to ride the pretty, flashy, "showy" types.

No need to apologize for your riding either. We all started out as beginners too, though some people on Yahoo act like they were experts from the 1st time they sat in a saddle. I liked the way you patted the horse in apology for making a mistake, and didn't punish the horse. That's the kind of thing that makes a true horseman!

I love cobs, they range from the placid plod to firey little things who are so much fun. My sister's is excellent, with an experienced rider he's brill and can be quite sharp and yet we can put a complete beginner on him, without leading him (always in a secure environment) and he'll plod round and really look after them.

Santino is hated as his character now seems to be the cowardly heel.it fairly is his interest i think of to sell this & be over with followers via fact the celeb all of them like to hate. His section with Stone chilly at the instant became the funniest element he's completed in an prolonged time.I agree he's charismatic & fairly gifted on the mic. He seems to be hated much greater now in view that this Maria storyline the place he's now decreased to her valet.Santino might desire to artwork on his wrestling skills & get some greater in-ring journey to flesh out his character. That way he might get greater credits for his efforts.

I love cobs! I have my own piebald cob! It all depends on how you ride!

When my cob first came to me we could barely make it over a cross pole without him knocking it down, he was strong, stubborn and now he is a jumping pony!

We can jump 3ft clear with ease!! He has muscle tone on his bum now and can beat the more 'fit' 'showy' ponies when we are galloping and still have the 'fitness' and endurance to be ahead afterwards! He has gotten more feisty during jumping and tries more now!

Cobs are great for example with me he will turn into a jumping pony yet he will give my less confident mum a steady ride!

Anyone who says cobs can't jump clearly have never had a cob. My cob will plod around with my little cousins and be really careful and gentle with them and then he will jump 3ft with me and test me! Yes he bucks and is really strong but this shows you how SAFE and SMART cobs are, he will test me but keep me safe, he knows i will not fall but it will wake me up a bit whereas he would never dare do that with my little cousins on top.

I love my cobby and can't wait to do some jumping, cross country & hunting with him! :)

    Cobs are the best :)

Dont underestimate them if you have never had one readers :) x
