How do you view "Love"?

Specifically romantic love between two human beings.

Do you view it as simply compatibility combined with chemistry of the brain?

Or something deeper than that?

love is butterflies in the stomach every time you see him/her, great sex, never ending conversations, being able to accept each others flaws, being able to work through any problem no matter how big (unless youre a nasty cheater >:( shame on you), annnnd willing to do anything for him/her

Oh, it is so much deeper than chemistry and compatibility,

there's like, love, lust, communication, trust, a longing to be

together, a bonding which one must experience to comprehend...

I am in a mature, loving, romantic, friendly, comfortable,

exciting relationship with my high school sweetheart

I just reconnected with him last year after 35 years, we

were both single and the years just seemed to melt away

and we picked up where we left off, we now live together

we had to part ways at the end of the summer after our

senior year, he went off to college and I had to report for

duty in the Navy, we lost touch until now...

Yes, it's so much more and now it's even deeper due to

the life experience we bring to the relationship this time

everyone is carrying their own load of love that they might be able to exchange with the right ones.

and some carry many larger loads of love that they intend to share with more than one.

how do the different compounds in the brain suddenly made? how do 'like' and 'dislike' cause different chemicals be produced? how does the brain decide what to like and not - and how much to like and dislike? how do the five senses (seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, imagining - or all these together) cause the brain like and dislike?

So science is still learning about humankind.

nothing is so deeper than what we've already know. but we have to recognize them. if we ideologically denying them, then we just have put them aside as looking for them.

To me love is more of an understanding or an acceptance of the other person as they truly are, in which reliability and strength is found from being with one another.

Both. It might essentially be a product of biological processes, but that removes none of its value nor should it destroy the sentiment normally attached to it.

it is only human nature to find a mate
