Which is more important? Honoring Parents or Keeping Family in tact?
I've been caring for my aging parents but to do so must live separate from my husband. Is it more important to live with my husband or care for my parents.
By the way we would be more than glad for them to live with us but our housing is probably too old fashioned for their needs and comforts. We heat only with firewood and the bedrooms are perhaps too cool for my parents of 80+ years of age.

I would never live away from my hubby to care for my parents. They would be moved closer to us if that is what needed to happen, an agency would be brought in to help them or find another solution. I would never sacrifice my marriage for my parents and they wouldn't want me to do that.
It isn't an either or situation. It is a situation that you all need to be working on together.

Sheesh americans are spoiled. Your parents and husband should all be together. Then you wouldn't have to divide yourself. And if your husband loved you he would let you make room for your parents in your home.

See about a Visiting nurse or a nursing home. Check in frequently though. I personally don't trust nursing homes but if you keep close watch they tend to treat your family better.
