barrel/pole bending question?

okay so right now i use a english adjustable hackamore, its a great hackamore and my horse loves it but itdoesn'tt get him to bend his neck the way it should for it is not a barrel/pole hackamore... i am looking at getting another hackamore either a little s or beetle hackamore for barrels/poles.hedoesn'tt need anything harsh...what would you recommend or is there another one that is better. i can use a snaffle but he likes hackamore better..and by the way this horse loves to run

Update:

isn't a stop and go hackamore harsh bc of the metal under the chain

I would move to a Little S if you're looking to move. You're not going to get the same amount of flex as if you were in a bit, but you'll get more than the English hack.

Work at home on getting him to bend and flex. That will get you the best results over any bit or hackamore. Get him light in the bridle and flexing with his whole body. A horse who only flexes with his neck is one who tends to be heavy on the front end. A horse who flexes with his whole body will work off his hind end more efficiently.

I would go with a little s. Or a stop and turn. We use both of them...but a little s is more for Arabians and horses with smaller heads.

hiya! That bit fits your concern completely. relatively, changing the bit is possibly to even make issues worse! i do no longer understand who your coach is, so I wont communicate undesirable approximately her, yet according to threat look into this greater. it somewhat is not the bit this is desiring improving, the horse desires a splash coaching (there's a super difference). basically artwork on it with the comparable bit you have applicable now. wish I helped!

    everyone already answered it.

stop and goes arn't harsh if you know how to use them. i would NEVER put a beginner barrel racer and tell them to barrel race with one. if you know your stuff and KNOW how to use one then i won't be harsh in any way.
