What is going on with my knee?
Last November I twisted my knee pretty good. Doc sent me to rehab. Took about 4 months, but I was able to play sports again. Since then I've had no real problems with it. My range of motion is just a little less than before the injury. But in a recent sports event, I turned sharply and my knee gave out. But it didn't really hurt. About 10 minutes later I was able to run on it. It feels a little less stable than it was, but had no real problems walking normally. I've always wondered just what damage I did to the knee. Did I tear my ACL or did I nick a menicus? Never did an MRI. Based on my info, and 10 months since the initial injury, what is the mostly likely reason that causes me to still be prone to my knee giving out (but with no pain and only slightly reduced stability)?

More than likely you are not dealing with a torn acl. It looks as if you may have some torn cartilage in the joint of the knee, and the most commonly seen tear is to the meniscus. To get more insight on the two injuries you can go to www.sportsinjuryadvice.com and get a more detailed explanation on the two injuries to help you make a better diagnosis. I hope this helps and your knee becomes more stable moving forward.
