how much weight can a 03 gmc sierra long bed single cab handle?

Question

i am looking at buying a steel 31 ft 4-5 horse trailer but at most i would be hauling 1-3 horses...can my truck handle it..has towing package

i highly recommend buying a gmc or chevy 2500 series
for 2003 , you can get a 6 liter, hd tranny and hd rearend (3.73 gears) standard on these models.....
this will handle the weight perfectly
I would not get a 1500 series to haul multiple horses on a regular basis 

if you are towing 1 horse.... the 03 sierra 1500 would be fine but 

-use Mobil 1 and anti chatter additive in the rear axle....a must
-change the transmission fluid and filter annually
- run Mobil 1 oil or  full synthetic equivalent every 3k
