Would the injection to put down a dog kill a human?

Say for example the vet was about to inject the animal and accidentally jagged himself...what would happen?

Only in a large enough dose. A simple needle-stick won't do squat.

Unless he jagged himself and pushed the plunger at the same time.....

No, the dose it takes to kill a dog and kill a human aren't the same.

I'm sure veterinarians are extremely careful when performing that procedure. However, there might be an antidote of some sort - or maybe it isn't strong enough to kill a human. I expect it would depend on the intended dog's size and the size of the person.

The vet would not inject the whole contents of the shringe, so an accidental 'jag' would be unlikely to be fatal.

of course. Both Pentobarbital and Sodium thiopental(which is commonly used in lethal injection for criminals) are LETHAL to humans.

    Why wouldn't they be?

No it wouldn't...Sodium Pentobarbital (Euthanization Chemical) is actually used as a medication in people, but it is possible to overdose and die from it!
