Calling all dessert loving vegans!?

Since i am a vegan and love dessert, i want to know what you all think of this dessert and can you please give me ideas for some variations.

Right now in the oven i have the layers to a chocolate, almond meringue cake baking. I whipped up some vegan meringue using Orgran No egg than then folded in grated dark chocolate and coarsely ground almonds. I plan to layer it up with toasted almonds, cocoa, more chocolate and whipped coconut cream (which is a huge hit) Do you think it will be ok for a special event? and do any of you have any more ideas as to what i can do with the meringue if they don't stay in one large round?

Thank you in advance :)

If it's a BIG event, you may want to phone them and ask them if they have allergies, what they like, ect.

That way you can know exactly what will go down well.

PS. It sounds brilliant to me!

If you end up making it, you may want to protect it... Mwahahahahah...

  • I've never done a meringue with No Egg, but I've heard that it works exactly the same as real eggs, so you should be fine.

If you have time, though, and are interested, this month's Vegetarian Times had an article on Vegan Cupcakes that looked AMAZING! It's on their website, http://www.vegetariantimes.com/

Hope the cake you're making turns out as wonderful as it sounds!

Ooo, I want to be at the potluck your going to! That sounds amazing!! I have never worked with vegan meringue as I wasn't a real egg meringue person either, but I'm going to have to now.

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. Therefore as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.

All fruits are fruit and vegetables. A "vegetable" is a plant, any part of which is employed for food.
