What companies are good for shocks?

I have a 2001 Lincoln LS V8 base, so my suspension is kind of stiff, but still soft-ish. I have 120k miles on the car and I'm overdue for shocks. But, do I also need to change out the springs? What companies are good for shocks, but aren't outrageously expensive like Tein. Thanks in advance for the help!

that makes no sense it cannot be stiff and soft. I think before you continue any further you need to get under your car and pay attention. Im pretty sure it has an air bag suspension and your looking at a grand just for the front I believe if not more. Check with the owners manual or call the local parts counter at the dealer ship. I think you have an expensive suspension system. It is possible the air compresser is not working correctly but you need a shop to diagnose any problems. If no check engine lights are on thats a good thing just enjoy the car the way it is. best of luck

I have a 99 grand marquis with the air ride system. Last year the air ride system failed and instead of getting new airbags and compressor I went to strut masters.com and brought the package with new springs and shocks. It took about an hr and a half to disconnect the system, remove the air bags and place new springs where the airbags were. The shocks came with the package also. The airbags tend to rot and are very expensive to replace. good luck.
