If your cat has not been spayed or neutered, make an appointment to do so. Cleaning your entire house and heavy cleaning the areas they have sprayed at the same time is a good start. However, this does not stop the behavior in some cats. Sometimes, once they start, they don't stop without encouragement. If this turns out to be the case, read on.

We were fortunate to have a space to send them to when they sprayed (an outdoor, contained sunporch that we could hose down). We kept a spray bottle of water handy for when they would start to spray and we tell them no and squirt them with water, then take them to the porch and leave them there with food and water and a litter box for a day or two. No love, no extra attention. Then we let them back in. You will have to repeat this and, even if they stop for a bit, you will have to stay vigilant as they may try it again months down the road.

Cats are smart and they will get it, but they will continually test you as well. I fostered one tom and ended up adopting him. He would try for years, but eventually gave up the game because he didn't like being banned from the house and the family and all the love and attention.

You do not say if you cat is fixed. Whether it's a male or female this is almost always the reason to why they do that. Get the cat fixed and clean up those areas it has sprayed and hopefully that takes care of the problem. Make sure you keep the litter box clean by scooping it at least once daily.

There aren't any easy remedies - there is one solution, however - get your cat fixed! Male cats will spray once they are about 4-5 months old and continue to spray to "mark their territory" for years to come. Fixing your cat is a quick, simple surgery to remove his testes. Once they are gone, he won't have the ability to spray.

It costs anywhere from $40-$100 at a vet's office, but there are often spay/neuter clinics in every community that will do it for much less ($20).

Last yr my lovely Manx cat Theodore went out for the night and by no means got here again. I love cats and the residence did not think the equal with out one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She used to be very worried and could pee in all places the residence. I determined Cat Spraying No More on the web and the strategies labored practically instantly. I have not had a situation with Lola considering that. Amazing! Can't quit your cat peeing within the residence? Then fear not more...
