can my baby come swimming with me?

she is 7 months old and it is starting to get warm out! i have tons of floaties and she wont ever be in the water unattended (i know from experience what can happen: my sister was 3 and she just walked right into the pool, no floaties and was walking down the floor of the pool, completely under water, and i jumped in and saved her). im just wondering if it is safe for her at this age to go in a pool or lake? which is better? or none at all? thanks in advance! :)

My baby has been in the pool since 4 months. Just don't let them drink the water. They will try to do that.

Pool is obviously better. She is a little young for floaties. She should probably have a baby life jacket and only be in the water if you are, obviously. (obviously cant just watch her from a tanning chair.... Lol) She could go to a lake with you as well, but its obviously bigger so same principle and watch her well.

    goodl luck :)

The pool is perfectly fine. I have seen little little babies in the pool. My sister is a nurse and her daughter was in the pool at three months. I would be a little cautious about the lake because of snakes and bacteriaf that could harm her. Have fun. Be safe and most of all enjoy every minute of it.

A floatie and she will be fine. Remember, she lived in liquid until she was born.....the sooner you get a baby back into the water - the more natural they feel.

Since she's only 7 months old , I wouldn't take any chances unless you hold her the whole time & just let her dip her feet in on the shallow step while holding her . After hearing that story about your sister , I wouldn't take a 7 month old near a pool !

    :)
