Tort lawyer retainer agreement excludes his expenses?

Is it fair for a tort lawyer to receive 35% plus be reimbursed by the Plaintiff for all his expenses when the P has no control over said expenses? My lawyer wants his 35% to be preserved, even if he calls in other lawyers as counsultants.

Thirty-five percent + expenses is typical for a lawyer working on contingency. "Contingency" means his payment is contingent (depends on) winning your lawsuit. Expenses can add up fast. Ask him to cap expenses at, say, another15%-20% , or share the 35% with consulting attorneys.

No, it is not. His expenses will equal your 65%. Trust me.

Law.yers fees are never set. It is whatever you and the attorney agree. This one doesn't sound legit. I would start looking for someone else to represent me. If you have a good case, that shouldn't be a problem.

    Good luck
