How to get rid of insects from my room?

There are small insects that I cannot locate in my room, however they are biting me like crazy. I'm allergic to mosquitoes, but these bites look very similar to mosquito bites. Mosquitoes are usually easier for me to find in my room, so I think it is a smaller bug.

So, are there any tips on how to get rid of a biting bug that I can't even see, without asking an exterminator to come? Preferably something natural or something I would find around the house?

Please and thank you.

First you need to know what the bug is.

Choices for biting bugs would typically be:

Mosquitos - you would see these flying around and they would be on the wall/ceiling.

Fleas - in the carpet. very small, look like pepper flakes. they can jump. Try sitting on the edge of your bed and put your bare feet/legs on the floor and watch to see if something jumps on your skin.

Bed Bugs - these would be hiding someplace, like between your mattress and box spring or along the edge of baseboard along the wall. Do you have blood spots on your sheets in the AM? Bed bugs come out at night.

Spiders - are those in your room?

Make sure your room is cleaned up, no piles of damp towels or dirty cloths or dishes/food to attract bugs.

If you have fleas, the only way I know to get rid of them is to bug bomb your room.

For bed bugs you need to heat the room up to a very high temperature and keep it there. Like 120+ degrees. You can hire an exterminator or possibly rent a room heater designed for this purpose.

Mosquitos, just be careful not to let them in.

Spiders - usually a function of dirty room.

I decided to start off gently, looking for non-toxic, 100-mile, fair trade ways to rid myself of my infestation. A few sites on the Internet recommended rubbing alcohol, and a couple others recommended baking soda, so I decided to mix them together in a big bowl and see what happened. There were two results from this. The first was that I didn't die, and the second was that I made a kind of whitish paste. Worried that I wasn't being thorough enough, and dimly recalling that tomato juice and club soda were also useful for some unremembered home remedies (constipation? Moon repellent? Tiger lubricant?), I added large quantities of those to the mix, and liberally applied the whole batch to my new-to-me mattress fort. That night I went to sleep, eager to see if my techniques had worked.

This is what I do, get you some "HOME DEFENSE" sold in a gallon jug with a sprayer included. You can get it anywhere, Walmart is probably cheapest. Once a week (I usually do it on Sunday morning when I clean the bathroom, and sort laundry) spray it on the screen and window sill, it keeps them away. FOR REAL!

there are a few products in store. i would use glue platforms. they are boards of plastic with glue on one side strong enough for even rats! i would put something on these glue boards to attract the insects like a sugar cube. they also make a lantern that when bugs go near it it electrocutes them and they die. but its made for outdoors and can get a bit annoying hearing the bugs getting zapped

Spray your room when you wake up and close all the doors and windows. Then when you come back form school or work open all the doors and windows and let the room air out. That should work.
