can losing weight make you fart a lot? honest question!?

ok. i gave birth a year ago. shortly after, i got the mirena IUD. between the hormones from breastfeeding and the hormones of the mirena, it prevented me from losing any weight. actually, after i got the mirena, i gained 15lbs on top of the 40 i gained from the pregnancy. i recently lost 12lbs so im pretty much back to what i was after i gave birth. i think i lost the weight because i have been breast feeding less. now, since i lost the weight, not be be graphic, but ive been farting much more frequently, and they are smelly and hot. it wasnt like this before. i havent changed my diet whatsoever. i drink a lot of coffee. not a crazy amount, but about a pot of coffee a day. i love carbs. i eat a lot of pasta and bread and cereal, but all of that is whole grain. im a sugarholic/chocoholic, but ive been trying to cut that down to a minimum. i try to get my fruits and veggies in, but i really havent been eating as much as i used to. i have 3 big meals a day and not too much in between. ive been getting whole milk instead of 1% for the daughter, and ive ben drinking more milk too because whole milk tastes better and i wont drink any other. i dont know what else i can tell you, but i need to know what is up with this ridiculous flatulence!! thanks in advance people!

    usually this is the result of what you are eating. Try eliminating one type of food at a time for a few days..see if there is any improvement. Remember to drink the recommended about of weather and do some exercise every day. If the situation stays the same see a doctor or ask a pharmacist about medications for this. Try a mild med at first. don

    The Whole milk and sugar/chocolate is clearly the problem. You can still drink milk just don't drink huge amounts.
