Amazon Package Signing?

Is there any way to have Amazon ask me for a signature when they drop off my packages? I have one coming in this Wednesday.

I live in the heart of Boston, and this past friday, we had 2 packages stolen from our building. I basically want Amazon to force Fed-Ex / UPS to ask me for a signature so that no one takes my packages.

Is there any way to request this? I know some 3rd party sellers force you to sign, but I don't want people stealing it?

Update:

Also, this isn't the first time packages were stolen. I bought some stuff worth about $100 off Amazon...

    this an apartment building?

we're not allowed to just driver-release packages in common hallways for theft to occur... guess some of those local guys are lazy to try to get a signature.

so there's no front doorman or leasing office at the front of the building to accept your parcels?

you can intercept the "in transit" status by calling the carrier, fedex/ ups/ postal service, to hold it at the nearest FedEx Office, UPS Store, Postal Office & go pick it up in person

if you notify UPS, they have a system where they can impose a "high risk" status called "no Driver Release" areas

but, if the couriers were properly trained, they shouldn't be leaving boxes at the common hallways, some of those Amazon boxes say leave the parcel if no one is home... yuck!

Walmart, like Amazon, doesn't want to pay extra $$$ for the signature service unless it was really expensive (over $100). Sure you can request the shipper to use that option, but i think they'll pass the costs to you.

    ------------------------------------

in the address forms, use the 2nd line

    123 Boston Rd

apt # A-1 signature request or at leasing office

    Boston, MA #####

Source(s): FedEx HD and Ground doesn't get paid by the hour UPS/ USPS does get paid by the hour so they can afford to have a re-attempt delivery the next day & leave those status notes on the front door for you guys to either sign the form or call the 800 # to divert them to the local UPS store/ FedEx office / Post Office for pickup

Is determined by the phrases of your delivery and what you comply with do with the shipper. FedEx commonly will simply dump stuff off whereas u.S.A.Will not give whatever up except there is a signature or you mainly waive the correct. Use MyUPS if you ship with u.S.To give up the right and get it delivered on time.
