I want to skateboard in the winter when there's no snow or ice melt to destroy my deck, trucks, etc.. The main problem is that cold weather in general can destroy decks really easily. I actually hear some people can snap their decks in 1 month of cold weather skating!

Just wondering about how Pennys (and similar plastic skateboards) hold up in cold weather? More likely to snap? Less likely? I just want something to ride around campus that will be less likely to snap.

If I gift someone an "e-gift card" through Amazon without putting my name in the message, will the recipient know my name? (i.e., Will they be able to see who the sender is and get the sender's info, like name, address, etc.?) I just want it to be an anonymous gift....

So I've been applying to schools. blah blah blah

I got some decisions in email, but I CANNOT open the stupid PDF files. I've tried at least FIVE different programs to fix corrupt files (Advanced PDF Repair, Kernel for PDF Repair, PDF Repair Toolbox, Stellar Phoenix PDF Recovery, etc.)

I read that there are problems with Gmail f***ing things up. How do I fix this? It's annoying the s*** out of me right now. I can't even open the PDF in another email service (like Comcast, Outlook, etc.)

Is there any way to have Amazon ask me for a signature when they drop off my packages? I have one coming in this Wednesday.

I live in the heart of Boston, and this past friday, we had 2 packages stolen from our building. I basically want Amazon to force Fed-Ex / UPS to ask me for a signature so that no one takes my packages.

Is there any way to request this? I know some 3rd party sellers force you to sign, but I don't want people stealing it?

This is just an example. It's not what my paper is about.

How do I cite the page of the source (John Doe's book) if I insert the quote in this format?

I'm planning on applying to graduate school for engineering, but my overall GPA is about a 3.0. I've gotten about a 3.0 every semester.

So far, I have an A in all of my classes this semester (fall 2012), and I'm enrolled in a graduate course. I know I am doing much better this semester. I think these grades will greatly help with the admissions process too, but I'm not sure if I should:

A) Just submit the grades I have

B) Submit my application on time but send my transcript later (i.e., wait for my fall 2012 grades)

C) Submit my application and transcript late.

If I submit my transcript later, the school probably won't get it until January 10th.

The deadline is December 15th for the application

My finals end 1 week later.

Then there's winter break.

Then I can send my transcript (if I choose to send it later).

WILL THIS LOOK BAD OR NEGATIVELY AFFECT ME?

So I just took the computer-based GRE. I ended up with a perfect score in the quantitative but a mediocre score in the verbal. Of course these scores are unscaled.

Now I'm just wondering how much the GREs get scaled (on average)? I know it depends on the people taking it and the scores they get, but has anyone's score dropped after being "scaled"? If so, by how much? If not, are the GRE unscaled scores usually pretty accurate? Just wondering. :) I'm a bit concerned about my verbal score dropping.

I've counted 15 states (between C & D) and 11 states (between E,F,G, and H).

15/11 = 1.363636...

Why is it not A? 15 is 36% greater than 11.

I live in a major US city.

There's a girl who always smokes her menthol cigarettes outside my window, and the smell comes into my room whenever I have my windows open. The problem is I have to keep my windows open because it's hot and there is no AC. The only windows I have are where the girl is smoking her cigarette.

How do I approach her about this? I don't want to be offensive and cause a huge issue. (I think that might make things worse.) Also, is it even legal to smoke directly outside someone's window? Would that count as "property damage"? I'm not supposed to smoke in my apartment (and I don't smoke anyways).

I can't find good tasting strawberries in the local market because I live in the middle of a major US city.

We have farmers markets that come by every once in a while, but the next one isn't scheduled to come for a while.

Anyways, I want to pick up strawberries at the supermarket, but the ones I generally get end up tasting too sour. I think I'm just not good at picking out the fresher ones.

So one of my friends asked me to go to a meeting with him.

He created an after school club with 1 of my other friends. The other person who helped co-found it removed me from Facebook. (I think because of we don't talk as much, but I have no idea.) The thing is, not many people are going (maybe 20?) because it's a new club and just got started as of last week. So I will see this ex-facebook friend, and we'll probably bump into each other.

I feel like this would be really awkward. Idk. What do I say to this ex-facebook friend if i bump into him? He and I know he removed me very recently. Or should I ignore him and act like we didn't see each other?

The plastic caps on those things tend to get shredded, scratched, etc. by my teeth. (I think this happens to a lot of people.) I don't like that, however. I want something that will last.

Does anyone know the best kind of water bottle that comes in that style? I want that type of cap, and it has to be durable.

They literally passed me on the right and tried to hit me. Then they honked when I tried to get in front.

One of them looked like an illegal Mexican or something of the sort. He had gang tattoos all up his arms. That's another thing I'd like to mention when describing the people in the car.

There was also an albino beached whale in the back. (i.e. A really fat, white woman.)

I can't remember the name of this TV show from the 90s, and I need your help.

- It was ALWAYS the TV show that came on before Thundercats. (It was on at 4:00 EST and Thundercats was on at 4:30. XD)

- It was about 5 human-powered, robotic cats. (These were giant cat robots, and each one was a different color: RED, GREEN, BLUE, YELLOW, and BLACK)

- The 5 cats were separate robots, but they could attach themselves together to form one giant cat robot. The black cat robot was the chest of the giant cat.

I'm one of those people who gets headaches and nausea from FPS games.

Is there any way to "cure" or at least reduce these effects from FPS? I would like to play some of my 360 games like Halo and COD, but I can't for more than 5-10 minutes because I'll get a headache. Then if I play longer, I start getting a stomach ache (nausea).

Alright, so I ordered a video game off Amazon.com on May 18, 2011. The item was actually purchased through Amazon, but it's coming from Target.

So far, there is no tracking information listed on Amazon's website. I figured that, since Target.com is powered by Amazon, maybe I could paste my Amazon tracking number there. Nope. Didn't work. Even Target couldn't find it. What the hell?

I tried entering the number into the UPS tracking service, and it says: ">>> UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later."

I am not entering the wrong tracking number. I have copied and pasted it like 7 or 8 times so far, but alas, no avail. Is this normal with Amazon.com and/or Target? How can no one know where the package is if it already "shipped" May 19, 2011?

My roommate compulsively scratches himself, and it's horribly disgusting because he lifts up his shirt to do so. (He has a rather-large OVERHANG, mind you, because he's fat.) Also, the sound of the scratching is extremely irritating.

I don't know if this is a disorder or not, but I've offered lotion, and he's refused. I don't know how else to tell him to stop scratching because I've said it to his face before.

He also eats too much and stuffs his face with chocolate whenever he can. He chews with his mouth open. I don't like talking to him, but he doesn't stop talking to me. I don't even say anything back.

Any advice?

Alright, so I'm an undergrad student at Boston University studying engineering and computer science. This school is *notorious* for deflating grades. (i.e. Professors scale your grades DOWN if the class average is above a 75%.)

I want to attend grad school, but I'm afraid with my GPA (it's about a 2.7 now, I think), I won't be able to get in. I have not failed a single course, but I am thinking about retaking some over the summer. Would that be a waste of my time? (The lowest grade I've gotten is a C.) Should I just try to do better in future courses?
