GRE score scaling question?

So I just took the computer-based GRE. I ended up with a perfect score in the quantitative but a mediocre score in the verbal. Of course these scores are unscaled.

Now I'm just wondering how much the GREs get scaled (on average)? I know it depends on the people taking it and the scores they get, but has anyone's score dropped after being "scaled"? If so, by how much? If not, are the GRE unscaled scores usually pretty accurate? Just wondering. :) I'm a bit concerned about my verbal score dropping.

My official scores were exactly the same as the scores I saw after the computer-based GRE! It does get converted from a 'raw' score to a 'scaled' score, but I believe the difference is very minor, if even at all. I have spoken to a few other friends that have taken the test, and their scores weren't changed either when they got the official scores; all that was new to us was our writing scores.

there isn't any particular yardstick, as you said it depends on how many people and their scores
