How many Christians realize?
That tomorrow is "Pentecost". It's actually "Shavuot", or the "Feast of weeks" (see Leviticus 23).
Since this is the day that Christians say "the church was born", why do you not celebrate this day? This should be a HUGE day for the church, but it passes unnoticed. Why is that?

The founders of the modern Christian church practice only what is most convenient for them. Ever heard of the council of Nicaea, where Emperor Constantine decided which books were to be included in the bible and which would be excluded? He also decided what traditions are to be passed down and which aren't as well. For example, how come Christians can eat pork and blood and cheeseburgers (in reference to the "don't boil a calf in its mother's milk" doctrine that Jews follow)? Christianity may be true, it may not. We'll never know because it has been corrupted and distorted by greed and pride for the purposes of extortion. The bible and Christian traditions may be inspired by God (I don't know) but it's definitely the word of men, not God, down to its very core.

Because the whole focal point of the church is not its own foundation. The focal point is Jesus Christ, even for the Jews before Christ was born.
The Jews looked to the Christ to come, all sacrifices were to show that by blood sins were atoned for. Christ became that blood to become the final sacrifice which simple animals could never come close to. The Jews looked to the promised "seed" which was told to Adam and Eve immediately after they sinned. From that point forward the actual "church" began.
The church is not some organized religion like atheists like to make it out to be. The true church is the universal community of believers in Christ. The church which you refer to is the great gift given to people to receive the gifts God bestows on mankind. But the focus is not the physical church but the gifts.
Finally, "Pentecost" is not when the Christian church began. Pentecost is when the Holy Spirit was given to the disciples. Pentecost is when Jesus Christ, who ascended into heaven fulfilled his promise of "truly I am with you always till the end of the age" through his Spirit.
Pentecost is simply a continuation of the past. Except now the Lord is present through his body and blood at Holy Communion and in the Word during baptism and the preaching there of.
Pentecost is not a "huge day" because it was the start of the church. Pentecost is a huge day, and yes it is still observed, because it reveals that Christ is truly still present with us.

a million. Christmas isn't a pagan holiday. The pagan holiday is iciness Solstice (yuletide), which occurs some days before. examine a calendar in case you haven't got self assurance me. 2. you're ultimate that Jesus probable wasn't born in December, however the Catholic Church in no way moved His birthday, via fact no person is attentive to whilst His birthday became into. The Church basically picked an afternoon to celebrate the fact He became into born, no longer the day He became into born. December 25 became into picked via fact 9 months before (March 25) is Purim, the Jewish Day of Atonement. via fact the thought of Christ signified atonement getting into the worldwide, the pope at that element counted forward 9 months and got here to Dec 25. It became into as stable as any day. 3. i do no longer understand of any Christians who whinge approximately Samhain. maximum do no longer even understand what it is. 4. As Christmas is on a distinctive date than yuletide, why might there be any ought to alter the date?

Christians do celebrate Pentecost, and it IS a "huge" day of celebration. Except for your church, I guess.
