Can't breathe through my nose?

Hi, it's been months since I thought to myself ''Hey, I can breathe and smell through my nose!

Since I was a child, I just could not smell often as other people or even breathe through my nose. I don't even have any vivid memories of smelling pleasant things. All I can smell right now (well, if it really is smelling, and not my body telling me something) is a vague cigarette stench. And there were no smokers that lived in my house or for several streets even. Is this a serious condition? Since childhood I got sick often as well, and still do to this day. I however do not feel sick, a runny nose or anything else. Although I can run some air through my nose if I breathe hard and do feel a cold/tingling sensation when I do, I can't breathe from it. I've tried many medications and so on and they don't work well, when they do they only work for a short while. Is this serious? Do I need to see a doctor? Are there any good medications out there (I've heard sea-water is good, but I never tried it)? Thanks.

P.S there are no allergies that I have that I know of. However, it's been a while since I had an allergy test.
