How can i get my teenagers back in order?

I have three teenage kids and ever since the oldest one started smoking, ditching school and challenging to fights the other two have started to be disrespectful also. They don't do chores anymore they don't like going outside. Instead they stay in the house and fight with each other all day and when we say something to them they look at each other and start smiling as if their doing it on purpose. They don't respect my space or the rules of the house. I don't know what to do. Please if you have any suggestions let me know.

I'm going to give a slightly different answer here since I am probably younger than the other people who answered (as I am still a teenager myself). In my opinion, being strict will just make them want to disobey more. Maybe there is a reason the eldest one started smoking. Are they stressed? Trouble at school?

I would say try to understand them and let them open up to you. A lot of the time, teenagers rebel because they feel misunderstood.

If that doesn't work, being strict might. I would at least try this though. :)

Take away their rights aka tv, cell phone, games and so on and if need be to teach them a lesson if they do that stuff like smokig and fighting Kick them out and tell them their no allowed to come back to the house until they have calmed down, even call the cops on them if their being too crazy ( ive seen it done and its a big wake up call for the kids)

If they have ANY modern life conveniences, take them away right now. They are only entitled to 3 hots and a cot. They can earn their belongings back through hard work, chores, volunteer work and proper attitude. I have 2 respectful teenagers because disrespect is not tolerated. I own everything you have you are just borrowing my stuff and when you misbehave, you may no longer borrow it. Stand up for yourself and your house before its too late and they have criminal records.
