What food should I eat before my rowing regatta?

I'm a 14-year-old girl that does 'sweep' rowing in a four seated boat. I'm a novice rower and this is my first regatta coming up in a few days, I'm quite nervous about it. What are some good things to eat before the race (preferably high in energy) and when should I eat them? Also, are there any tips/tricks to make sure my row goes smoothly? I row in 2 seat by the way. Our race is 2km. Thanks very much :)

Okay, I'm going to give you tips before the nutritional stuff first. First of all, you already know this, but LISTEN TO YOUR COXSWAIN. When she asks for a power ten or a collected ten, DO it. Don't just row idly even if you're burned out and you feel like dying. Also, pace yourself. Don't try to row as fast as you can in the first 1000 meters than have no energy left for the last half. The most important part of the race is the last 500 meters, so go full out when your coxswain gives the signal. Even though you probably already know this stuff because of erging, I just thought that I should remind you :D Oh, and around the middle half of the race, you are going to be literally dying, but you still have to push through and try to remain a constant pace.

Now for food, I'm not going to lie; I'm not an expert in this stuff at all. If it's an away regatta and you're traveling, you're probably waking up pretty early (I'm guessing you're waking up from 4 am - 6 am). If you don't feel hungry in the morning, you should pack a little breakfast like a bagel that you can bring with you on the bus/ride with you. Just don't eat things that'll give you stomach aches, and I'd stay away from any dairy products. Eat carbs like spaghetti the night before. Also, my coach always said to not eat within 3 hours of the race.

Typically eat spaghetti the night before, for dinner. Called carb-loading, it will give your muscles stored energy for the race.

I'd carb up an hour before.
