Web pages that can't be seen completely?

Sometimes a web page lacks an vertical slider bar.

On my desktop with a 32 inch screen, the only way I can see that page is to hit CTL - (minus) to reduce the page size, but then the text can't be read.

What am I missing? Thanks for your thoughts.

Merely imagining a 1024x768 resolution on a 32 inch monitor makes my blood freeze in my veins. Are you at least using the proper aspect ratio? As in, do you have huge black bars on the left and right, to make up for the fact that you're using a severely outdated 4:3 resolution on what I assume has to be a widescreen (16:9) monitor?

If not, you're not only dealing with pixels the size of maize kernels, you're squashing the image.

To be clear, you should switch to a resolution of 1920x1080. If you do have bad eyes, try something like 1280x720, so you can at least use the monitor properly.

As for your problem, I can only suspect you managed to move part of the window off the screen, so you simply don't see the slider or something like that. Hard to say unless you give us a link that doesn't require filling out a credit card application first.

Neither mouse wheel nor/pg up/down work, no it's not my site,

One site last weekend was for the Chase Bank credit card application

    https://applynow.chase.com/FlexAppWeb/renderApp.do...

It's the last page of the application that had the problem, but as you can see, there is no slider on this page, nor the following.

It only happens occasionally. Can it be my screen seetings? On Display Settings I'm using 1024x768, and have tried others w/ the same results.

    Thanks for your input.

This Yahoo page doesn't have a slider! It seems to be pages with a weird topline in Firefox.
