If an alternative therapy is actually effective, should it be called alterrnative anymore?

If it is not the normal therapy used by the majority of providers it would be called the alternative choice.

I think that the word 'alternative' isn't a synonym for 'doesn't work'! It means that it's not the mainstream treatment. So to stop being called 'alternative' the treatment would have to become mainstream. Does that help?
