Yes, it is normal and the older dog will, or should, chastise the pup if it becomes a nuisance to it. Chastising can be buy snapping and /or growling at the pup, but not hurting it in any way.

The pup will eventually give up anyway.

Make sure the pup is fed 4 times a day and that water is available all day.

The breeder should have given you a diet sheet for the pup and a sample of the food it`s been eating.

But I suspect the breeder was not a very good one if they allowed a pup to be sold at 7 weeks old.

Yes. 7 weeks is too young to be removed from it’s litter.

VERY normal since a puppy should NEVER be taken from its mother younger than at LEAST EIGHT weeks. It's also ILLEGAL to sell puppies younger than 8 weeks.

What horrible backyard breeder let you buy this puppy????? Shame on you for being so selfish, cruel and clueless!

It was too young to leave its mother, so it is trying to find a new one. You will have to give it formula if it can't go back to its mom. Weaning should end at 8 weeks of age, so it will need about one more week of milk.
