Have a loud banging sound in water system.?
Approx. once or twice and hour there is a loud banging sound that comes from the home water line. This occurs when a faucet is turned on or toilet is flushed but sometimes just occurs on it's own. The pressure reducing valve is set at 60 psi. We have no idea if this is water hammer or something else. Any help or advice would greatly be appreciated, this is driving us crazy. Thank for your help.

Air in the system most likely.... should be something about it on the "This Old House" YouTube channel to set you straight prior to calling a plumber.

You have air in your water pipes. Call a plumber. It isn't a difficult problem for a plumber to solve.

Called 'water hammer' and there are ways to quite-it, ask your plummer .................
