What is your question in particular? Phoenix has similarities to Los Angeles but much smaller and hotter and better highways.

Have you looked on craigslist for the area you want to move to? I know craigslist has a bad reputation but regardless I have hired some exceptional people, sold furniture, helped my husband get a great job all from craigslist. Give it a try as a possible alternative.

If you are moving to the Phoenix area, try to find a place near where you will be working. This is an enormous place and having to drive across the valley twice a day won't be very fun.

    Check www.rent.com and www.apartments.com

Where in Arizona? google-search online for that city's newspaper, go to their classified ads. craigslist can turn up some good listings, especially for units in smaller buildings, in-law apartments, etc. But do be very careful as there are quite a few frauds. The big sites such as apartments.com typically only list more expensive apartments in larger complexes as these are the only places which can afford their fees. Realtors in your particular destination will list houses for rent, especially larger & more expensive homes, and rarely list apartments.

I'm looking for an actual question so I don't have to report this non-question
