how to disable windows movie maker audio compression?

i'm trying to put some audio into a WMM file so i can export it and put it on youtube but every time i try to export it, it gets some horrible audio compression that makes it sound awful. how do i disable this? i've tried editing the settings to set it to 96kbps as  that's the nearest bitrate to the audio i'm trying to use.

    you need to choose the appropriate format of audio.

    honestly, WMM is the WORST video software. as easy as it is to use, it only saves in Windows proprietary formats, which are the least popular.
