What is the answer to this math problem? 10 divided by the fraction 25/27     ?

In my math book it gives the answer to this problem

The answer is the improper fraction  14 over 5   (14/5)

Every time I attempt to solve the problem I always come up with

54/5  fifty-four over five.  I don't know where I am going wrong.  I follow all the steps of the instructor, but I don't know where I am not canceling out or reducing to lowest terms to get to the right answer.

Again the problem is 10 divided by 25 over 27.  I don't know how to come to the answer 14/5 fourteen over five.

Thank you

    If the problem is 10 / (25/27), the answer is 270/25 = 10 20/25 = 10 4/5 = 10.8

    It is not 14/5 = 2.8

The answer key in the book is wrong (Not an uncommon event).

If the problem is 10 divided by 25 over 27 or, per PEMDAS

    10/25/27 = (10/25)/27 = 10/625 = 2/135

In neither case is the result 14/5

    The answer is 10 divided by 25/27 = 54/5

    I agree with you.

    10 / (25/27)

    = 10 * (27/25)

    = 270/25

    = 54/5 (or 10⅘)

The book has a mistake either in the answer (14/5) or the problem. For example, maybe the problem was supposed to be 10/(25/7)

    = 70/25

    = 14/5 (or 2⅘)

When you divide by a fraction, you invert the fraction and then multiply.

    So 10 ÷ (25/27) = 10 x (27/25)

    = 270/25 = 54/5 = 10 4/5, or 10.8

Clearly, the answer in the book is wrong.
