Eventually then would be able to do so, but not in that short period of time.  First they would have to place a lien on your vehicle.  They would have to go through the legal process to acquire the title before they can sell it.  For $200 and 1 week, it is just not worth it.  They may give you your car now and let you owe the $200 for a week, or they just might keep your car for another week.  They will not be selling it that quickly.

Have a talk with them to pay the $1300 today and the $200 balance next week. A sensible place would accommodate you. 

No, but they can charge you a storage fee. You need to talk to them and explain the situation today. Either that or borrow the money from a friend or family member. 

You'd  better be talking to the shop and explain your predicament.  Maybe they can work something out with you.

Many shops have payment plans, see if they will work that out for you. 

You need to discuss the problem with the shop. They may be willing to work out a deal instead of hurting you. They like getting business and making money and when customers are happy, they bring in more customers. A shop can use a mechanic's lien to sell a repaired car when the customer won't pay for it, to recover their expenses. Don't wait until it comes to that. Work harder to earn money so you can pay your bill.

If they get a mechanic's lien on the vehicle, yes, it is possible but no shop is going to do that in a week's time.

Speak with the owner/manager to see if you can work out some deal but don't be surprised if they won't release the vehicle until the bill is paid-in-full.
