How long does it take a casting director to email you back?
I emailed in regards to an open casting call 4 days ago, hoping to audition but I haven't heard back and I assume that means they didn't like what they saw. Do you know how long it would take for them to get around to my email and if there is a chance they just haven't read it yet because there are so many applicants? I'm new to the acting industry as no one in my family does anything with it but it has always been my dream and I'm sticking with it
In desperation I WANT to email again to specify a few things and increase my chances but I know that is frowned upon and seen as desperate but if I already failed it can't hurt. I just want a chance to audition and show them what I can do and then let them decide if I am wrong.

Every casting manager is different. Some answer with in minutes. Others take days. sometimes they are free to answers in minutes. Other times they may wait until they have in bunch of inquiries and then reply to them all at once. So there is no simple answer to this question.
