Boyfriend forgot about valentine's day?

So I told my boyfriend I dont make a huge deal out of valentine's day but that i like to go on a date and do something small. I'm not expecting a huge decorated room or anything of the sorts. But he didn't even wish me a happy valentine's day until I said it first. And I know he forgot because I just caught him trying book something last minute because I was upset when I wished him a happy valentine's, he said "oh is it valentine's day". So not only did he not do anything, he also completely forgot it was valentine's day even though his parents dropped a present for him off today. It also hurt because before we got together we were best friends and he always asked me about the big plans he had with his other girlfriends so I just feel completely unwanted.

99%, of the time, males do not recognize holidays at all.....unless someone tells them.

well you cant go out places on valentine day because alot of places are closed down since its still covid 19 is still happening. it better not ask your boyfriend to take you out for dinner its better just maybe go to see a movie or have a movie night together and make some foods and drinks just spend time with him. if you said that valentines day isnt a big deal then you shouldnt worried too much about it.  it s better not keep asking him to buy something special for you because men these days who are nt married or have no jobs buy any thing expenvise  so it better just accept sharing love and friendship and show some cherish in his heart. anyways its not too late to get him something or make some thing nice for him. plus at the stores they still sells valentine's day items after next day to put out clearance sales prices goes down . more likely you can get him a box of any kinds of candies witha nice card that will be much less money to spend on someone.

This is 100% YOUR fault. Your biggest mistake was telling him that you DO NOT care about Valentine's Day. Good grief. Men don't read minds. You need to be direct and honest with them. If you said Valentine's Day was important to you, and he's a good person who validates your feelings, he would get you something next year.

By the way, I also hate it when people feel that Valentine's Day is just for women. It's not. It's nicknamed "Couple's Day" for a reason. If you tell him that you want to celebrate Valentine's Day next year, don't forget to get HIM a gift, too.

Perhaps because it's a capitalist invention of card companies, not an important thing. You don't need a day to celebrate or show your love; you can do that any day.

Also; it's a pandemic. Who's going out? (he might not have even seen anything, as most people aren't now bombarded by info for the same reason)

If you want it to mean that he doesn't care about you, you can convince yourself of that.

My dear males are unable to multi task , and getting to you would have taken two brain cells at least give him some slack , its a hard job being a man

Your boyfriend is smart enough not to make a big deal out of a made up and a completely useless celebration. Make it a holiday and I'll remember it.
