People have been dying of HIV/AIDS for decades. Where is the vax for that?

What do you want us to tell you? They've tried many many times to make an HIV vaccine and had several promising candidates-- and every one of them ended up killing patients and having to halt the trials. Frankly I won't be surprised if the same is true of the Covid RNA thing. There's no long term testing on it either and the animal studies are not good.

There's a wishful ignorance on your part in assuming that all viruses are the same and if one can come up with a vaccine with one virus then one should be able to do a vaccine in all. Look around and tell where the vaccines for herpes and hepatitis C are at? 

The coronavirus vaccine was not an overnight project. It started in the 1990's when SARS-CoV hit and later on MERS. That is when the vaccine projects started. It continued until we got hit with SARS-CoV-2. People infected either died or got over the infection with their bodies own immune response. The formation of T Cell immunity and B cell immunity over came the infection and when exposed in the future most did not get reinfected. It is rare to have reinfections with COVID. 

HIV is a chronic infection where no individual has overcome their infection and because it is a chronic infection the antibodies their bodies make is not protective. One gets reinfected with other strains through having sex with other people that are infected and the same person with that chronic infection will create their own mutations making it much worse with regards to mutations than COVID.

What a vaccine does it makes the body create antibodies that are supposed to protect the individual but it doesn't work because the antibodies HIV creates are not protective and so vaccines fail. The vaccines with other viruses are protective because the model in life that is a normal part of how those infections are overcome normally. Get infected with rubella or get the vaccine for rubella then you will be protected for life. Get a vaccine for HIV and nothing happens or get infected with HIV virus then you have a lifelong infection.

You ignorance on the natural history and lifecycle of the viruses is enormous.

Your ignorance goes from complaining that there isn't a vaccine for HIV to you complaining that vaccines are killing people. 

Grow up dude before it's too late. It isn't cute to be stupid. People are going to run away from you for being that stupid.

If you want the why you'll have to do the work to understand how viruses work, why there are different types and what that means for their reproductive action, until you do, you'll only be getting the informed opinion (hopefully!) of someone else.

The short answer is, there is no money in vaccines.

No drug company is researching them on anything other than a cosmetic level.

No company is going to invest hundreds of millions to get a drug to market, only to wipe out the market and lose money.

They can make vaccines pretty easily, as demonstrated, but there usually isn't much call since most aren't that infectious.

They have never been able to come up with an effective vax for HIV because of the way that virus mutates so quickly.
