Tick noise on idle?

Why motor tick on idle? either I am at a stoplight or in parking. It was sitting in the storage for 2 years, put fresh oil a month ago but it still ticks.  Thanks.

Low oil pressure or sludge in the motor. One or more of the hydraulic lifters inside the engine is either not pumping up fully, or is too worn to do so. Add Marvel Mystery Oil, STP Engine Treatment or one of a dozen other products designed to reduce engine sludge and enhance "top end" lubrication. Then drive it 1000 miles, then change the oil again and add more engine treatment. Repeat in 3000 miles. If it doesn't go away, there's too much engine wear for those products to work their magic.

Could be normal wear and tear noise since the engine is high mileage. The oil pressure drops when idling and this will create lifter noise or the lifter rod to rocker arms noise.

Could also be the serpentine belt is squeaking when it reaches a certain spot while spinning around the various pulleys and such.

It's probably the hydraulic lifters. You can try warming the motor up and then while it is in PARK hold the rpms at 3,000 rpms for 3 minutes. That air bleeds the lifters and might help.
