I am British. I am 72 years old. I have never met any British person who professed jealousy of America. So it seems like you are mistaken in your assertion. 

What a load of crap. Do the Americans have a National Health Service that is free to everyone. No the don't. Are Americans aloud to carry guns around thinking it means freedom while the British very strictly restrict the ownership of them because they know it's safer.. Do the British run around in big cars that burn fuel as if it going out of fashion no, but the Americans do. Need I say more.

The country may be huge - but that might be about it. The living standards are much lower (poorer employment laws, health provision etc)
