Anemia? How long to recover with food and/or supplements? ?

Hi! (:

I’m very confused.

On google it says that anemic people don’t feel better for another 2 weeks after they begin taking iron supplements because that’s about how long it takes for enough red blood cells to be created again until you begin to feel normal once again.

But then I go on Twitter and I see SOME people saying supplements don’t work for them, eating food absorbs in their stomach faster , & they have to eat all their iron from food.

So here’s my question. If you choose to go the route of food, does it take 2 weeks as well?

Anyone on here anemic? What was your anemia symptoms and recovery experience like?

Getting enough iron from food  for anemia is hard it would be something you had to get a dietician involved in.It could take a long time.  Red cells are made constantly. But it takes take to replenish depleted stores. I really advise to not google stuff because of this and ask your providers.

I have had the problem and it can take several weeks to feel better. Taking iron with orange juice helps it absorb quicker. Avoid tea or coffee for an hour before and after.

The comment about food only is unscientific nonsense.

    U.K.
