What is the art of creating a picture out of numbers?
What is the word used to describe a piece of art comprised of a single or set of numbers (or text) that creates a larger picture? For example, if you took a magnifying glass to said type of picture, you might see it is completely made from typing the number 9. I remember making art in high school that was made from just dots really close together. But from afar, it resembled a portrait. I've seen online generators that create pictures almost instantly whenever you type in your text or numbers and select the portrait you want created. I just cannot remember what it's called? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are other converters, some of which are very good.
It used to be a great way of getting pictures from dot matrx and line printers, but nowadays, it's a lot easier with inkjet and laser printers, especially when you want colour (some of the converters will do colour as well).
