Why does wearing a mask hurt my ears?

My mask is on and it’s not even on tight. When I wear it all day, it hurts my ears on the side and my ears get so sore when I take them off. Why is that? Is there a way to prevent this and adjust masks? Please don’t’ say take my mask off because my job requires a mask all day I am at it where I am not allowed to remove the mask.

There are masks that go around your head rather than attach to your ears. Try those.

Yeah , I know the feeling that is why I have strap extenders for face mask. It wont hurt your ears and it is adjustable to the size of your head and comfort level. You can make one! Just find a sturdy cloth can be rubberized and use it as extenders on the face masks' sides. Try gogoling it.

cause theyre annoying, maybe you can wear one of those plastic shields instead
