  • Chain popping off crankset. Advice?

Regardless of components and adjustment (new/used... chain/deraileur/chainrings... serviced, properly adjusted limits/tension/height...)

ANNOYING (No need to get off. I just shift down to catch chain then shifting into high = to put chain back on low chainring, shift down to low > back to high)

Chain pops off chainrings upon starting to pedal. upon my normal startup about 25% of time chain pops off. (Only solution I've found is to start in a crazy-low gear. Normal start is high-7th in 2x10 drivetrain. Easy 15+ mph in 3 car lengths. Easy 25+ mph average on flat, same speed as cars just faster startup @ lights) 9000+ miles yearly

    Replace:

Chainrings @ 9-12 month, when visibly worn on side from shifting. Still good useable NOT "SHARK TOOTH" bike co-op accepts and uses on their bikes without a problem.

    Chains @ 3 months approx 2000+ miles, 0.7 wear.

    Cassette @ 8 months approx 6000+ miles

disc brake (pads @ 2 months. Rotors yearly)

  • Shifter pod flexing/twisting upon changing gears?

Alfine Sgs700 internal hub, index shifter.

Problem. Shifter pod twists while changing gears. Shightly rough changing gears, like something is rubbing/catching.

    slightly noticeable performing standard 1-shift

Rapid "2x" shifting is a no-go. Pod visibly flexes.

Shifter is solid. No movement on bars. Nothing appears out of place when removing plastic parts (housing, indicator) everything is clean no grease buildup. I tried using shifting nothing attached with no changes.

Did everything but replace actual shifter and cassette joint (sp41 housing, ss cable, shimano sp41 cable grease, T9 on shifter internals, shimano special grease "neon yellow" on cassette joint) (hub assembly is correct, shifters properly adusted, hub serviced regularly monthly oil change)

  • buying car, mis-match VIN info, any advice?

is this a scam. FRAUD, or sloppy paperwork

car is in great condition for year, seriously low mileage, single owner

car fax shows "vin # associated with plate"

other sites, show nothing for all VIN numbers, but shows results for:

    driver/owner,

    License plate,

dodge car (2 different VIN numbers, both legal and physical, by 1-character)

CAR (on 2013 car VIN marked for 2014)

License plate (VIN is different by 1-character letter from car registration, "0 & D")

when researching the 4 possible VIN combinations they all fall back to same car

    "40, forty" on registration, (4 = 2014) car make/model/line

"4D" on License Plate, marks same make/model/line

"30, thirty" corrected for year, shows same model/model/line

"3D" corrected for year, different make "Chrysler", same model, missing line (Chrysler/jeep/dodge)

ALL 4 vin numbers show different mechanic reports, all in same region, 2 owners.

1 VIN report shows relative as owner (i did backgound check on both persons)

  • Can a city create an ordinance which breaks STATE LAW?

It is to my perspective that any laws written must be followed by all government. And laws can be more restrictive but must no conflict with other laws which they have no control over. City must follow state. State must follow U.S. GOVERNMENT.

City police officer ticketed me $25 flat. For breaking a city ordinance/law. When I questioned it, knowing that exact state law, pointing out that same officer is breaking that law.

He stated that city written out that uniformed on duty police officers, are allowed to break such law. And they don t enforce such law equally throughout city, only near police station (4 blocks all directions)

I researched it on officer referenced website. And law was written to exclude officers.

Also such law is not properly indexed within their CITY ORDINANCE. Even though there is signs posted it is excluded from proper category.

I will fight ticket, and confident I will win due to technicalities. If not it is only another $10 (city officers unaware of state law 2012, writing their own version 2016; then not properly filing it. It was completely ignored in proper category, without any references to other/filed category) spoken to local cooperative they also agree with me and are in process of contacting their lawyers for questions.

    Recent symptoms:

tight jaw, not teeth grinding (pressure, causing jaw pain)

teeth impressions on tongue (bleeding tongue just with constant pressure/tension of mouth, PAIN)

less sleep (7-8 hours down to 4-5 hour)

Memory blackout (cannot remember whole day)

    lighter skin

    pain around eyes (in Morning)

lower energy levels (no effecting daily routine YET)

    ________________________

absolutely NO drugs and Alcohol used PAST/Present

well hydrated (drinking approx. 75% bodyweight in ounces daily ex 4 LBS=3 oz) (per doctors 100% is perfect health, 64 oz daily minimum)

  • Laptop Battery Life Span?

my laptop is about 2.5 years old. it has a 9-cell battery

according to a system scan, the battery has 68% (58.83/86.58 Wh) of its designed capacity. I currently get about 3.5hrs use (Brand new i got 7.25hrs.) It holds a charge, for now.

What is the recommended percentage to replace L-Ion Batteries?

Should i buy a new battery (MSRP $190)? i am planning to sell it ($500+, originally $2700) and get a better Laptop by Fall 2012.

  • slow laptop high CPU/R.A.M USAGE.?

my laptop is a Dell Precision with:

    Windows 7 professional, 64 bit

    Intel i7 16 gig R.A.M.

    additional 10gigs backup from memory.

    What i use regulary:

Anti-Virus doesn't recognize anything- run daily whole computer scans

De-fragment- scan every month and use if over 3%

Registry cleaner- multiple times daily (after every time on internet)

notice over half the time. my laptop is using 90-100% of all 4 cores and over 80% R.A.M.

at the times i am only using 1 window/program. when closed program it remains like this for a long time.

looking through the computer there are no which stands out background programs running. no updates required and/or running.

laptop/software cost over $2,000. i cannot afford any down time. use it for everything included school and work. this is my first business laptop. a few of programs are slightly different.
