I know there’s something about landlords cannot evict tenants that cannot pay rent due to COVID, but does that mean he can still charge me $50.00 for every day that I don’t pay?

I don’t know how any of this works, my schedule has a layout where I can’t work too often so there’s less risk of COVID or something.  I work extra shifts that I’m allowed to be able to pay my rent but one day I couldn’t find the landlord and he only takes cash, and at 8am the next day I woke up and gave him the money and explained the situation and he still added the $50.00 late fee for next month. Does the law only apply to tenants that aren’t working or to everyone? I just don’t know how it works if someone can explain. 

Also my lease is month to month if that’s important. 

My husband and I rent a room from someone who sublets a house. 

He never gave us our lease to sign so we aren’t on a lease. There is another couple here that is very rude and has tried to fight us many times over petty things. My landlord threatened us all about violating the lease, which states no violence or name calling (which I never did). 

This couple has gotten away with everything, and the landlord never does anything about it, even if he talks to them about the rules. But he is never lenient with us. They are not friends and they do not like each other, so it’s not a friend thing. They don’t work or do anything at all but stay home. I am the only one here with a job. 

I’m really tired of it and I’m very scared to say anything to him in fear he will say I’m “causing drama and violating the lease” and tell me to leave. Does it backfire if he never made us sign a lease? My address on my license is for here so I don’t think he could lie and say I don’t live here. I just can’t risk getting kicked out but I can’t stand being around people that make my life harder than it already is. 

I rent a room with my husband in a house with 6 other people. 8 of us total, soon to be 9. Clearly, with so many people, a fridge/freezer can only hold so much food, there is no space in the refrigerator, so my husband and I are stuck only buying frozen foods as there is just enough room in the freezer for some things. We have a new roommate moving in soon. This has stressed out our landlord making sure everything is perfect.

 He sent a group text saying the refrigerator is too packed and the freezer is too packed and that we are “inconsiderate for buying so much frozen food” and is threatening to clean out the fridge and throw everything away. He has already started as my husband and I JUST went shopping before he sent the text, and today, some of our food has already been thrown out. Is the landlord allowed to do this?

Sep. 2019 my dad helped me with a $1000 down payment on my 97 Toyota Camry. Car in total was $3500 not from dealership it's inhouse purchase. $200 a month and I still owe around $2000, payments on hold until July because of Covid. There was SO MUCH wrong with the car. I lost my room I was renting in February because I couldn't afford the rent after putting $2500 into my car (I worked part time) Also lost my job when it broke down. I am now bunking with a friend for a few weeks.

My dad told me to take the car to his backyard mechanic when the engine shot from my car not holding oil. (Because my dad helped with the downpayment he tells me what to do with my car) The mechanic replaced my motor and he said he fixed the oil issue. It cost me my entire stimulus check which was all I had to my name. 4 days later the engine shot again. My car wasn't holding any oil. There is oil all over the bottom of my car and under the hood. Mechanic fixed it again for $500 and said he fixed the motor but oil was fine. But he didn't fix the oil issue because apparently it's holding fine. My car still doesn't hold oil after I left with my car.

 I don't know what to do. I have no money, my mechanic is screwing me over, I'm trying to get a job but I can't with this car always breaking down, I'm on the verge of being homeless, I still make payments on the car, and my dad is telling me it's my fault and I'm costing him too much money. (He loaned the mechanic $500 for the last fix) I really need advice

I left Stater Brother's back in January after working there for 4 months and I never received my w2 from them. So I called them and let them know and they're trying to charge me $20 for another copy even though I never received the first one. What can I do about this? I shouldn't have to pay for another one if I never received the first copy!

If just one person takes the time to read my dilemma and has any sort of advice, it would mean the world to me. My mom is a sweet woman that will do anything she can to help the people. She cooks, cleans, and does everything a stay-at-home mom would do. We have a pretty good relationship, except for when she drinks. 

She is not an alcoholic by any means. She doesn't drink every day. She'll drink a few nights in a row here and there when she wants to destress or just have a good night. But when she drinks, she goes out of her way to find me, and only me. She will then unload everything on me. She accuses me of things, screams her head off, and taunts me to try and physically fight her. She has always been bad at communicating with me, but it's worse when she's drunk/buzzed.

There is no getting through to her, no silence, apology, hearing her out, ignoring, etc. will do the trick. When she's mad, she says awful things to me and screams until I yell back, and when I finally do stand up for myself, she acts like I attacked her, like she's the victim. Then she gets physical and taunts me for not fighting her back. 

Does anyone know why she might act this way towards me? I have two older brothers who don't experience this behavior from her. I'm the only child she trusts. I help her around the house and run her errands. And I am the only child who has some sort of relationship with her, so I cannot understand why she would act so violently towards me when she drinks. 

I m 18 and currently waiting to start training at my new job in two weeks, so I don t have very much money. I went all out for mother s day because I had a job at the time and was able to afford everything I wanted to give to my mom.

Now father s day is coming up and I have no idea what to do for my dad. I don t want to buy candy or any kind of sweets because my mom ALWAYS has candy around the house and she always gets a Boston cream pie every father s day.

Here s some things about my dad: He s not one to go out to dinner and a movie or anything with my mom because it s just never been their thing. Sometimes he ll go out to the garage to play his drums and he used to be in a band. He loves to barbeque and he s a lake kinda guy so he loves to drive our boat and go on lake trips all through summer.

I was thinking of maybe finding out his favorite bands so he can go to a concert or something but I have no idea how to purchase concert tickets, I ve never been to one myself. Any ideas based off this little bit of information? Please Help. Thanks!! xx

I have absolutely no motivation to do anything. I seem to always find myself in a bad mood and just get so easily annoyed with everything and everyone. I have no talents. No hobbies. No interests.

I always feel so terrible that I have nothing going for me. I dropped out of school in 11th grade. (I should be in my second semester of senior year) I didn't want to. My parents put me in a new school, ended up hating it, pulled me out, and that was it.

Anyway, I don't even have school to keep me busy. And since I'm not in school I've lost my friends. I have no one to hang out with. And I can't drive because there's no one who wants to teach me.

What can I do since I have no friends, can't drive, and no interests or anything? I took it upon myself to start small to get out of the house by walking my dog every day but I end up getting so mad on the walk. It's like everyone I see annoys me and I can't be happy. How can I snap out of this?

ALSO : I can't join a sport or some sort of class or anything because my parents say I lose interest in things too quickly so they refuse to put me in anything so please don't suggest joining something.

I'm 18 and have my very first interview at Target tomorrow morning. I've done some research on what to wear, but I'm still stumped.

I originally picked out a dark blue sweater, black jeans, and was deciding between black flats or black boots. Then I read about how you should NEVER wear pants to an interview.

Now, I've picked out the same dark blue sweater, a black skirt, although it has some ruffles and goes above my knees and shows my tattoo, so I was going to wear black tights with it, and then again decide between my flats or boots. Is that acceptable to wear? Or should I change anything?

I do not own

- dress pants

- slacks

- khakis

- polo shirts

- any type of button up/blouse

I do, however, have one black button up dress shirt, but it's a guy's dress shirt.

My closet consists of sweaters, jeans, tank tops, t shirts, flannels, flats, and boots of all heights.

I do have a solid dark red skirt that goes down to my knees, but it clashes with my sweater and I heard you should avoid red at a Target interview.

Any advice on how to look appropriate with the clothes I have? Any tips on the outfit I picked out if it is not entirely acceptable? A head to toe description on how to dress would be fantastic. Please help!

About two weeks ago I applied for Target. A few days later I got a call from them and I missed it by 8 minutes. I immediately called back twice but no answer both times. Then I received and email from them about emailing them about when I'm free to talk.

I replied and haven't heard from them back that day. I then called another two times the next day. (Once in the morning, once in the late afternoon) and no answer again. its been four days later and I haven't heard a thing.

Should I reapply? If so how long before I should?

I have taught my dog how to sit, shake, lie down, and beg. She learned those really fast. It only took her a day to learn each trick. Now I'm trying to teach her other things: Spin, act shy, roll over, speak, etc.

I know a couple may seem a little more challenging for her, but when I first started teaching her some of those things, she did it, but now she won't do it again. For example, I tried teaching her "act shy".

She would hide her face, and I'd reward her with a treat each time she did it. She will only do that once or twice, then get confused when I'd try to make her do it again.

I recently bought a Click-R and some bags of small treats that she loves, thinking she would improve. She now is starting to know the purpose of the Click-R, so I know that's not confusing her.

I don't know what to do! I really want her to learn new tricks and be obedient, but she won't cooperate. She's too hyper and rarely makes eye contact. Any tiny distraction makes her bolt. Can anyone tell me what to do to make her obey? I feel like she's practically unteachable now.

(She's about 4 or 5 years old, and she's an Australian Shepherd mix with Lab, if that helps in any way.)

Do people still give out promise rings? Is it considered "tacky" or "stupid" for teens to give one another promise rings today?

So, when people talk to me, I'm always as nice as possible to them. I always know how to keep a conversation going and make people laugh without being obnoxious, but no one ever seems to want to hang out with me outside of school. For the first time in months, my friend actually said yes to hanging out with me, and the entire day we were together, her phone practically blew up with texts from so many people begging her to hang out. I asked how she got so many friends, but she said she doesn't even know, because she usually doesn't talk to people. Then I asked her why she rarely wants to hang out with me, and she pretty much ignored my question.

Do people just not like me or something? Please don't give me a list of negative comments. :c

I'm going to be a freshman in August and I have band practice over break with the band class I will have for seventh period. I've been getting messages on Facebook from people I have in that class. (Mainly from guys) My boyfriend hates when I talk to any guy other than him, but talking to new people is a good start for me. Especially since they're in high school, and that's where I'm going soon. My mom even told me it's best to make friends with people I'll be seeing in high school. But my boyfriend has been getting mad at me every single day because of this. He will not stop fighting with me. I even explained everything about how I'm just trying to make friends, but he doesn't care. He says it's bull and it's stupid. I try everything to make him believe no one can take me away from him, but he still gets mad at me and doesn't listen.

What can I do to make him stop getting so mad? Am I a bad person for talking to guys? Please help. Thanks.
