It's been 20 minutes. . . what to do now?

My ball python, Corbin, has suffocated his mouse, but he tried eating it from the wrong end. He has been trying to get his mouth around it for 20 minutes and nothing has happened. What should I do?

Update:

The mouse's legs are spread out on oppisite ends of Corbin's mouth

lol totally normal, my king snake eats her pinkies from the wrong end too. Let it go. It'll take him forever, but he'll get it. believe me they can wrap their mouths around anything. Sometimes it takes Charli 40 minutes to eat. Good luck.

EDIT: Just today it took her a good 35 minutes because she accidentally opened the pinkies mouth and its jaw got caught in the opening of her mouth. Just as a side note, you should feed your snake F/T if you can, just because its healthier the freezing process gets rid of a lot of bad germies and stuff. Also live prey can bite or scratch Corbin if you don't kill it first. But the primary reason is so you don't accidentally infest your snake with parasites, etc.

I leave snakes alone for two hours when they eat a frozen rodent. checking in on them all the time stresses them out. Snakes know how to eat, they wouldn't have survived millions of years of evolution if they couldn't figure out how to eat.

You have to take the mouse out of his mouth and let him get iit from the head if he tries to swallow it back wards the mouses claws will get stuck in his troat and he will most likely choke and die. Use barbeque tongs or something if you are worried he will bite you.

give him time he will figure it out sooner or later and if he gives up remove the mouse and give him a new one

    sickk. shoot the snake.

    that was easy. :)

I wouldn't worry about it. On TV the sankes always take like an hour to swallow their dinner. You might want to call his vet just in case.
