I'm 13 years old and shot a 77 today on a par 72. Is that a very good score when the slope rating is 113.?

What the hell is slope? We don't say that in Australia.

Don't listen to those that tell you that you suck. Shooting an honest 77 on a par 72/113 course is really good. A lot of adults can't even do that. But make sure you count every stroke and penalty (no mulligans).

Keep in mind that there's always going to be someone better than you, so don't get discouraged by those that say they play better than you. Practice, practice and more practice and you'll get even better. You might also want to consider having an experienced golfer or your golf instructor teach you how to 'manage' the course to cut down even more strokes. Who knows, by the time you are ready for college, you might be so good then that you'll get a nice golf scholarship!! May be even turn pro one of these days.

Congratulations! I was 15 last year when I shot a 77. I shot 78 as well last year and have had 4 rounds in the 70s this year (a 78 and three 79's) at age 16. Keep up the good work!

sorry but I don't believe you. ANYBODY who shoots 77 on a par 72 regardless of age knows he/she has shot an excellent round. If you need to ask if 77 on a par 72 is a good score, you couldn't possibly have done it.

the slope is low, the score is good. When you are asking about a score, dont just use the slope, use both ratings. The course i play on is 71.3/129. I am 15, and im shooting about the same numbers as you, so you're ahead of most people your age. And btw make sure you count all the strokes, your just cheating yourself if you dont. . And dont listen to that kid who says you suck, your well on your way, when i was 13 i coud barely break 95. Two years later, im breaking 80.

I'm 11 and I shot an 82 on a par 75

that stinks for the tournaments i play in up in PA. I'm 14 and im a +2 handicap and the tournaments up here are very tough, kids my age are shooting in the low 70s high 60s so it is very competitive. I do think that if you practice all winter you will consistently shoot mid to lower 70s though which is still very good and better than what 95% of the world can shoot so just keep practicing all aspects of the game

Yeah that is really good. I golf for school and we have seniors who have been golfing for a long time that haven't shot that. Actually no one on our team has gotten that low yet.

When you do this again and have the score attested by an adult player who scores you, tell us for we may have a future Junior golfer.
