What do I do about this sore throat?

I have started relief teaching at various schools and the kids are all young and snotty. I feel like every time I get over one sore throat, I have another infection attacking me. How do I keep working with this extreme sore throat? If I don't work, I don't get paid because I am on contract, so I have to work even if I feel horrid. This just feels like it's not worth it anymore, I am sick of feeling like this!

Any suggestions? I wash my hands often but my immune system has gone to hell.

Update:

I work on a where is needed basis, so I change schools all the time.

I also mentioned that I wash my hands all the time too.

Stay hydrated with plenty of water. Also, vitamin C which is in orange juice definitely helps boost your immune system.

First, if you're working with kids wash your hands after every single class. Kids get sick all the time and they are carriers of a lot of germs, so wash your hands and carry anti-bacterial gel.

Second, gargle with salt water. I have always found this to help. It dries out the infection in your throat.

Third, maybe you could consider a transfer to somewhere where the kids aren't so snotty?

You're going to catch all kinds of cold working with children. In addition to constantly washing your hands you should really be taking vitamins and during the cold season Echineasa is wonderful for building your immune system and can be found anywhere in the vitamin aisle.
