  • Advice on Kid-proofing cables ...?

I am due to have a baby in August, so we have plenty of time. I have just been thinking that we are very wired at home. We have a home entertainment area and an office that is just full of chords and cables. What is an easy way to keep my baby from the cables. With all this technology there is a growing need for sockets and I want my child to be safe. Any suggestions?

  • Can someone help me to convert the chords from Guitar to Soprano Ukulele please?

I am trying to work out how to convert a song from Guitar to Ukulele .

The chords in Guitar that I am trying to convert to Ukulele are:

    G , Gmaj7, C, Am and D.

These are the guitar chords and they need to be converted to the GCEA tuning of a uke.

The song is Rodriqez, - I wonder. If you know where to find it (in Ukulele chords) please can you post a link too. Thanks!

  • I said something stupid? do you think he'll forgive me.?

He put up a message online directed at all his friends relating to asking him anything, i thought that it was directed at me, since i was a little surprised by his response earlier, i got a bit annoyed and felt bad because of my current relationship being important to me, wrote a long email, told him to go read it and that he should change the message. I think he thought that I was rediculous because he has always been honest with me. He replied to one email. I just feel like he is angry, I can't tell for sure.

  • Petting Zoo at my Centre?

Hi, I have been trying to work out what to do to get a few animals to come and be at my Early Childhood Centre for a few days for the children to look at and touch. I live in Auckland, any ideas or suggestions? It would even be cool if we could just get a lamb in for the morning to show the children.

  • Hibernating Libido during winter?

What's up with this ? When winter rolls around and shows it's ugly mug, and it rains and is cold for 6 months, where does my libido go? Seems like it crawls under a rock and hibernates, which is no good for my partner, never mind the layers of clothes that make me look like never ending wrapping paper. What do I do? Does anyone have a logical reason for this?

  • Waiting before getting pregnant. Dealing with the wait.?

I am studying for the next year and a half. I am married and 26 and I am keen to have a baby. I don't want to get pregnant just yet but I can't stop thinking about it. Why is there only literature about ovulation and waiting for pregnancy results and what you need to do pre-conception? All I am looking for is something to read that can tell you how to put this biological clock on hold until the planned time arrives, where is it? Good luck to all those trying!

  • What to get - really tight budget?

I am going to study next year and I have very little spending money this year for Christmas since my savings for studies are basically everything I earn at the moment. My husband loves outdoors things, I wanted to get him surfing lessons but that is way out of the budget. He is 33, a computer geek who actually doesn't play that many games and he would like most things. I like to usually get him something that he would love - not too difficult but on a budget it becomes tricky to get something really great that doesn't cost too much..

  • What do I do about this sore throat?

I have started relief teaching at various schools and the kids are all young and snotty. I feel like every time I get over one sore throat, I have another infection attacking me. How do I keep working with this extreme sore throat? If I don't work, I don't get paid because I am on contract, so I have to work even if I feel horrid. This just feels like it's not worth it anymore, I am sick of feeling like this!

Any suggestions? I wash my hands often but my immune system has gone to hell.

  • Book creation software - once off print?

My friend is having a baby and I want to make a baby book for her. I know that there is software out there that you can create a book and then send it off to have it printed for a small fee. Are there any programs that are for Windows OS that are free to download and can ship to NZ? Thanks

I am a graphic designer so I know about books and printing but I need an easy cut/paste kinda method. I have the pro software but it would be a mission to print one offs for myself also I haven't got access to the right type of printers to do it. I just want to send it off and get it back done!

  • Have you bought a boat? How often do you go out on it?

My husband wants to buy a boat. We live at the sea - not on the beach, but 20 minutes drive away. Have you bought a little boat for fishing and how often do you go out on it?

I want to know how many people have a boat and don't use it regularly, or whether it is the soul purpose of the weekend, is to go out on the boat and get your fishing gear on?

If you do, what are the reasons and if you don't why did you buy the boat in the first place?

    Thanks!

  • How to convince my husband to see a Skin Specialist?

My husband has red skin on his cheeks and it looks like sunburn from wearing sunglasses. His nose is also red and has very big pores. He is very fair skinned and it looks to me like a slight case of Rosacea.

I have mentioned he should go see a dermatologist, but he always says no. He doesn't think his skin is that bad. I would love for his skin to be healthy and taken care of. He also tends to scrub his face really hard to try clear the pores on his nose. I think this makes it worse.

If I can't get him to see a specialist - is there any suggestion on what is the best skin care range to use for the condition, creams, etc?

  • What is the best way to start a business?

What I am asking is for ideas relating to the financing side of things as well as he processes and things I would need in place to start a graphic design studio.

Initially it would be me solo and my husband offering a hand. I am looking for the best way to finance the venture with the least impact.

  • Why do people think that artists/designers don't mind giving away their work for free?

Why is it that when a person studies to be a lawyer, they don't get asked to quickly write up a contract or divorce someone for free, but as soon as someone says they are an artist, cartoonist, graphic designer, everyone asks if you can just quickly draw a.... or design a logo for them? As if I didn't go to University for 4 long full-time years and work my butt off ?

  • How do I keep my fonts neat and tidy?

I work on a mac using Extensis Suitcase Font Manager. I work with loads of fonts and often I have too many of the same font installed as a result of having to find fonts for documents. I end up with lots of little unhappy fonts which tend to conflict with each other. How do I keep control over my fonts?
