How do you get melted plastic off a glasstop stove?

I put a loaf of bread wrapped in thin plastic on top of our stove yesterday. When I came back the plastic had melted off and is now "one" with the stove.

I've tried pouring boiling water on it, tried scrubbing, I even tried turning the stove back on high (and succeeded in filling my flat up with noxious fumes!)... help!

Use a window scraper with a NEW razor blade. It should come right off. Hope this helps.

buy a retractable single edge razor blade scrapper.

cost about $3.00 at any hardware store. the single edge blade retracts back into the handle. is very useful for scrapping paint off windows also.

i'm not sure if it comes with the blades. the hardware store also sells them in a pack of 5, will last ya for years.

    good luck to ya.

    use it gently.
