How does one accidentally send a text the 'wrong' person?

I was just wondering what has to happen for someone to accidentally send a text to a person that they didnt intend to send that text to. I mean, I'm sure its going to depend on the phone and the exact set-up/interface/how you actually send a text on that particular phone. The reason I ask is that this girl keeps sending me texts that 'supposedly' were meant for someone else, and I dont know what to make of it.

So, could you accidentally text the wrong person if you were reading a text in your inbox and then replied to that somehow thinking you were replying to another, or

I guess, if you just clicked the wrong person's name accidentally/subconsciously when you were selecting the recipient?

I have done that before. I entered in the wrong phone number or sent a message to their old phone number that someone else is using since they got a new number. I was like "Oops too late".

I have a BlackBerry. It rarely happens to me, but it does happen.

Especially when I'm driving and texting at the same time. Some of my friends have similar names so I tend to type the wrong name.

It could very well be that it's simply her attempt to have contact with you. It creates a reason for you to text her back, and that's just what she wants you to do.
